Ming-Qing fiction refers to the fictional works produced during the Ming and Qing dynasties, when this type of narrative proliferated in Chinese literary history. Novels and stories were produced in large numbers, the most notable of which include the  Romance of the Three Kingdoms ,  Water Margin ,  Journey to the West , and  Dream of the Red Chamber .
