National Emblem
The national emblem of the People's Republic of China is an image consisting of the national flag, the Tiananmen Gate, a cogwheel, and ears of grain. The Tiananmen Gate stands in the center shone by five stars with the ears of grain and a cogwheel encircling them. The cogwheel and ears of grain represent the working class and the peasantry respectively; the five stars stand for the great unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The image of the emblem symbolizes the unyielding spirit of the Chinese people in their fight against imperialism and feudalism since the May 4th Movement and the birth of a new China with people's democratic dictatorship led by the working class and based on the alliance of workers and peasants.
